These are the terms you agree to by using MOTION. The app is run by Gideon Ojelede, a sole proprietor based in Alberta, Canada. "We" and "us" below mean the same thing.
MOTION is not medical advice. It estimates calories and suggests a daily target based on a standard formula. It is not a doctor, a dietitian, or a substitute for either.
If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, are recovering from an eating disorder, or are unsure whether a calorie target is right for you, speak to a healthcare professional before changing how you eat. If you're struggling with your relationship with food, please talk to someone qualified — the numbers in this app are not the right tool for that.
You need to be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
You're responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. Your username appears on the leaderboard, so pick one you're comfortable being seen. We may remove usernames that impersonate someone, or that are abusive.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Privacy. It's immediate and permanent.
MOTION estimates the nutrition of food from photographs, barcodes, spoken descriptions and a food database. These are estimates. Photo-based estimation in particular cannot see what's underneath, cannot weigh anything, and cannot know how something was cooked. Treat the numbers as a good guide rather than a measurement, and correct them when you know better — the app is built to let you.
Calorie targets, goal dates and expected weights are projections from a standard formula. Real bodies vary. Nothing here is a promise about what will happen to your weight.
Barcode and database figures come from the manufacturer, by way of public food databases. Where they're wrong or out of date, MOTION will be wrong too. If accuracy genuinely matters — an allergy, a medical diet — check the packet, not the app.
MOTION offers a free tier and a paid tier called Pro. New accounts get a 3-day free trial of Pro.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We can't issue them, reverse them, or see them. Request one through Apple's support site. Prices may change; if they do, you'll be told before any change affects a renewal.
Your meals, photos and weigh-ins are yours. You keep ownership of them. You grant us only the permission needed to run the app: to store them, show them back to you, and send meal photos to our AI provider so it can estimate what's in them.
We don't use your photos in marketing, on social media, or anywhere else without asking you directly first.

Accounts doing any of the above may be suspended or removed.
MOTION relies on services we don't control — Apple, Supabase, Google. It may be unavailable at times, and features may change or be withdrawn. We'll avoid removing things people rely on where we reasonably can.
MOTION is provided as it is, without warranties. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the previous twelve months.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You can stop using MOTION and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will explain why where we can.
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. If you're a consumer elsewhere, you keep any protections your local law gives you.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged in the app rather than slipped in quietly. Continuing to use MOTION after a change means accepting it.
